Frequently Asked Questions Items Required for Admission Registration

Registration

Pre-Registration applies to currently enrolled students for the following term and begins during the last month of the current term. Registration is held the week proceeding the first day of classes, and is required of all students.

READMISSION

Former students seeking readmission after one year (two consecutive semesters) or more of absence must submit a new Application form together with the $25 application fee, and submit a new Church Endorsement Form. Readmitted former students will enter under the requirements of the Catalogue current at the time of readmission. Readmission will not be considered unless all previous obligations to BHBI have been met. For more information on readmission, please see the Admissions section of this catalogue.

REPEATING COURSES

Courses may be repeated when the course grade was "C" or lower. When a course is retaken for credit, only the final grade is calculated in the student's cumulative GPA. However, to determine academic honors, all of a student's attempted coursework will be calculated in the final CGPA. Audited courses may, of course, be taken for credit at a later time.

REVIEW COURSES

Current enrolled students may sit in on a previously completed credit course at Black Hills Biblical Institute as a "refresher" of course material, with the approval of the Professor and the Registrar's Office, if space is available. To take a Review Course, a student must file an Academic Request Form with the Registrar's Office and pay the Review Course Fee. Sit in students are not given grades by professors, and their transcripts will not reflect Review Courses.

AUDIT COURSES

Any course may be audited, if space is available in the classroom. After paying the Audit Fee, students are permitted to register to audit a course on the first day of classes. The Registration Fee is required for a student classified as an auditor. After the drop/add period, students may not change status from audit to credit or credit to audit. Audit students do not receive grades, but audit courses will be recorded on the student's permanent transcript. An audited course may be taken for credit at a later time.
